Wise men say that only fools forget to archive documents.
You never know when you'll make a mistake and need a backup
copy post haste. And, even if you do remember to save incremental
revisions of your data now and again, how will you keep
them organized? How do you know that they can't be changed?
Keep-It carves your stuff in stone; you can go back and extract
any stored document, but you can't remove or edit it inside
the 'kept' crypt. It's like having a personal elephant
on call.

Keep-It is an unusual little program that allows you to archive
multiple versions of important data files on your computer.
|
The
install places an empty archive on your desktop, to which you can
add as many files and folders as you like. You can't add files from
within the interface -- you'll need to use drag-and-drop or the
SendTo menu to accomplish this. The archive interface allows you to
open, browse, update, and restore the files within. Just select
New Snapshot to achieve an update. Keep-It scans the original files
on your drive, and creates a new entry if necessary, maintaining
the original archive entry, as well. Keep-It does not provide
password protection, continuous monitoring, or a scheduler to
automate the backup process. Although it could certainly use these
additional features, Keep-It is easy to use and includes online help.
